Now For Something Different

Time for another entry into the “Why Are We Here” series. The last entry in the series talked about multiple universes which kind of referenced an earlier entry about the same subject. This time I want to talk about something a bit on the religious side. So, whatever your belief is, just come along for the ride and you can decide on your own later.

Whatever your belief might be, we all believe in a soul of some sort. This is the big debate as to when life truly begins. So, again, I may offend some of you, so forgive me ahead of time, but I believe upon conception, this is when the “soul” is passed on, created, or formed depending upon how you think. Obviously, I have played my hand as to where I stand on that issue, but that is not what this is about.

Where does the soul come from? If we follow Einstein’s theory of Relativity, energy can neither be created nor destroyed. If this is true, then where do our souls come from? In an earlier entry, I discussed the “Guf” which the Hebrews believe to be the Hall of Souls. The ancient Hebrews believed that the sparrow song is a sign that the soul is descending to a mother’s womb to enter the baby.

So, if this is where it comes from, then what happens to it when we die? Again, I talked about this in an earlier entry. I quoted research in which scientist weighed a person before they died and after and found approximately 10% loss of mass. If at the time of death, we exit our bodies, then where do we go?

Do we go back to the Hall of Souls for recycling? A certain religion does believe that we keep coming again and again until we get it all right. Or do we go to Heaven and spend eternity in true bliss? That is what most religions want us to believe. If this is true, then how do we explain Ghosts?

Now it is said that a ghost is basically a tortured soul or a soul in limbo. What is that exactly? How long do we stay in limbo if we do become a ghost or if we are tortured? See, I wonder about this, because how do we define what a tortured soul is. When we are older, most people make amends for things that they have done. But what if we are taken before we righted all the wrongs that we have done? Would we then be put in limbo?

Finally, why are we all unique? If we all have a certain soul that makes us who we are, then were there ever people like us in the past? The reason I ask all of these questions is this, I believe that I belong in a different time period then the one I am in. My beliefs, whether you agree with me or not, are of another time which makes me wonder why I am who I am and why I am here, now.
