Soccer Is Back

Well, it is year two for this coach. I am looking forward to this year’s season because I am looking at most of my kids returning from last year. So, we will have the advantage of having played last season together and they were coming together towards the end of the season.
Conditioning started yesterday and it was very scary for me. You will have to remember that it is still in the 90’s down here. So, heat exhaustion takes over rather quickly in the kids. We try to stop every so often so the kids can get a drink, but they are out of shape from the summer, so they are just worn down quickly.
We had several freshmen trying out this year which was great to see, but they were dropping like flies. When I looked over, our one assistant coach was being medic for a day with about six kids that dropped. The rest of the boys did a wonderful job considering we threw everything at them for the first day. This year I am going to push the offense a bit more then I did last year. I believe with the basic crew back from last year, we have a great core and I am looking for a great season!!!
I will keep you updated as to where we are and how things are going. Our first game is not until November, but hey, we can never start too early. So, hang onto your seats because I have a feeling that this is going to be a wild ride for all of us. Thanks for your support.
